Ed felt his heart stumble a bit in his chest. A Roy Mustang who wasn’t cocksure, ambitious, a fucking iron fortress, was a man Ed hardly even knew. He’d seen some of it—the soft heart beneath—under Central Command. Down there the rage on Mustang’s face was as familiar to Ed as breathing. Now, he didn’t know what to do with Mustang’s trepidation.
