Summary
Slavery is banned in Camelot as it has been for years. Not even Uther approved of slavery, even if the slaves were magic users. Arthur has continued to enforce this law during his reign as king but unfortunately, criminals don’t tend to care about or follow the law. So as people keep disappearing from the woods, Arthur places a curfew at night and bans anyone from going into the forest alone. It’s a fair rule that most are fine with except for the fact that Giaus is running low on herbs and Merlin isn’t always the best at listening to or following instructions…

Summary
All devoted fans of Merlin know that Gaius is a terrible liar and Merlin has been accused of being off in the tavern every time he goes missing. This can sometimes lead to the belief that the poor overworked servant had a major drinking problem and runs off to the taverns for days at a time. However this isn’t the case as Merlin can’t hold ale well at all and is usually off saving Arthur’s arse or being attacked by one of the many Pendragon’s enemies.
Merlin has gone as far as being bluntly honest with Arthur about being away dying and having his answer brushed away. Merlin used this to his advantage despite hating the tavern excuse but sometimes his injuries are worse than usual. There are times where he goes missing for too long and Arthur quits waiting around and begins to search for his wayward servant. So when Arthur stumbles upon an injured Merlin, how may that affect the direction our story flows?
