"… I see the way you avert your gaze when I look your way, Priest- I feel it branding my flesh when I turn my back."
"Don’t flatter yourself, Sylvian rodent," he hissed, eyes gleaming from sunken sockets. "I have devoted my very being to the art of blood magic- to the art of destruction itself. You doubt my composure? My will? I will not let myself be defiled by your like."

Summary
He’s still uneasy above her, shifting his weight awkwardly, the same look as earlier tonight. Ready to give her whatever she wants to keep her even-keeled and steady, no matter the cost, ready to let her rush ahead and pull them all into danger, ready to slip her a strong drink to keep her at his side. She doesn’t want liquor.
Veth can't stop needing things she shouldn't have. Compared to Caleb, alcohol's easy to quit.

Summary
five pivotal moments within tyranny and wick’s relationship as they discover what they are to each other and what it is to love and be loved
from meeting through changes to friendship to realizations to confessions
His gaze catches on the bright yellow of her eyes, shining and gleaming with still unshed tears. "I see the Light within you, Tyranny," he says gently. "More than you give yourself credit for. There is good in you, and you have worth, and you were meant to be here."
Tyranny blinks, caught off guard by his sincerity, lips parting. She ducks her head for a moment before shaking her blunt white bangs back as she looks up at him. She cocks her head towards one shoulder, furrowing her brow slightly as she searches his face, trying to read him. A puff of smoke is exhaled from her nostrils as she lowers her gaze and swallows. "I don't know how you believe that so strongly," she says, low. "But... you make me want to believe it, too."
He reaches out carefully to take her clawed, blackened hand and enfold it in his own, soft and pale. "That's where all faith starts, Tyranny. Wanting to believe."

Summary
Vaelus certainly doesn't trust her. That much is clear. She keeps staring coolly at Aranessa - that blank, calm, appraising gaze that only ever comes from a prospective enemy. She does not bother to hide her dislike, so Aranessa shows her the bare minimum of courtly politeness, and nothing more. Nothing else will be asked for, and nothing else is owed. Just because they're traveling together doesn't mean they have to like one another. Just because they're traveling together doesn't mean they have to click.
Thaisha does not seem to share these reservations. Thaisha, for some incomprehensible reason - perhaps something related to the paladin's strong thighs and smug demeanour and terrifying prowess with a whip - has decided to sleep with the nun. Not once, not twice, but thrice, at least as far as Aranessa knows. Two times could be a mistake, but three times puts the whole business pretty firmly into fling territory, for sure.
Gods, what the hell is she doing?
Aranessa can't stop thinking about her very capable, very attractive traveling companions.
Surely if she just ignores the problem, she'll get over it.Series

Summary
"Could you," he asks, after a pause, "feel me watching you?"
"Only at first," she says, "I almost couldn't do it, with somebody watching."
He frowns. "Sorry."
"Don't be, I've gotten used to you watching me."
"Oh." He winces and looks away again. She wonders, if there were any heat left in him, he'd be blushing. "I'll—stop? Doing that. If it makes you uncomfortable."
"I don't mind," she says, and her voice comes out feeling heavy. He must feel it too because his eyes snap back to hers.
