But Dean's chance comes when a thief rolls through their town. He pursues the thief, which puts him right into the path of Emmanuel, a notorious outlaw. “You having lunch?” Tim repeated his question, knowing that Jon didn’t hear him the first time.
“Oh, yes,” Jon nodded and looked down at his other hand as if he had completely forgotten that he was supposed to be eating lunch. Tim wouldn’t be surprised if he had. “Sandwich from the deli down the street.” He took a bite of the sandwich and some crumbs from the crust crumpled onto his lap.
“Looks good,” Tim walked over to the sink to wash his hands from the grime of having to deal with all the dusty statements around the archives. He didn’t want to get dust and ink all over the food that he had brought. “You should’ve got me one.”
