Summary
Calum speaks up before Michael can snap at any of them again. “Look, whatever you’re doing here, we don’t give two fucks as long as you stay out of our way.”
The table falls quiet. Luke’s brows draw together.
“What are you here for?” he asks Calum.
Calum goes to reply, but Michael stops him with a hand on his chest. “We don’t owe you any answers. Go fuck yourself.”
“Didn’t ask you, though, did I?”
Suddenly, the chandelier lights come back on. The crowd murmurs in surprise. Calum’s eyes flit briefly to the Excalibur Diamond on stage, then back. Immediately, he realizes he’s made a terrible mistake.
Ashton inhales sharply.
“Oh,” he says, like it pains him. “You’re here for the diamond.”
Calum and Michael. Luke and Ashton. Two competing teams of thieves. One diamond.

Shut the fuck up. Please.— 5A
Yeah, it’s impolite. But Calum isn’t a saint, he’s only a high-school teacher.
He walks back to the neighbouring apartment and slams the note on the door none-too-kindly. He also pointedly slams his own door shut when he gets back to his apartment.
There’s the buzzing of speakers, and a prolonged silence. Then, Calum hears the creak of a chair shifting followed by the click of a door unlocking. He prays that his note conveyed his sentiment: I just want to get some sleep.
The chair creaks loudly as its inhabitant reoccupies it. Then,
“Sorry, man,” says the voice, presumably to Ash. “Jus’ some stray at the door.”
Calum seethes. What the fuck?
“Yeah, no,” Asshole Neighbour goes on, clearly and loudly, like he knows Calum can hear. Which is true. “No, I’d just invest in some soundproofing instead of fucking around in other peoples’ business.”
Or, Calum moves into a new apartment, but the walls are really thin. Also, his new neighbour is annoyingly loud.

Summary
Ashton is a terrible person, that much he knows. But he’s a terrible person with hard deadlines, and after all of them have passed, maybe he can try to make a better impression on his hot, gay upstairs neighbors.
Although, his new neighbor has likely crafted an Ashton-looking villain inside his head, because while he may be the asshole who can’t keep it down, Ashton’s the asshole who told him to shut up— and now, Ashton really can’t be sure which one of those monikers is worse.
