Hinata followed Komaeda around the table, heart hammering away in his throat. “Why are you doing this— why can’t we just talk, dammit ??” He wrapped a hand around Komaeda’s wrist, pulling him with as much strength as he thought the other could handle (which was definitely not that much, he knew Komaeda was sickly).
Komaeda staggered, almost dropping the laptop and files. “Hinata, let me go.”
“Why do you hate me so much? ”

Hinata would sure love it if his workplace crush didn't hate his guts, or at least if he didn't look as attractive as he did while undermining him at every turn... But really, all Hinata really wanted was to know why Komaeda had started ignoring him right when things were going so well.

"What have you even been thinking about, locked-up in there for one month straight?"
Nagito shifted under the covers. "Do you know René Descartes?"
“I guess.” Hajime furrowed his brows. “Cogito ergo sum.”
“Yes, cogito ergo sum.” Nagito echoed, “It’s a philosophical concept he reached by locking himself up in a room away from all distractions from society. Traditions, customs, obscurantism. His goal was to start from zero. Rebuild his whole philosophy from what he knew to be real. That’s where his first conclusion came from. I think therefore I am.”
“So... you’re changing your philosophy, then? What’s your new take on hope and despair?”
“I don’t know, Hinata-kun...” Nagito smothered himself with his own pillow. “So far, I’ve just been sleeping.”
After the Neo World Program, Nagito Komaeda poses as a philosopher by drowning in guilt and painkillers and locking himself up in a room until everyone hopefully forgets about his miserable existence. Unfortunately for him, Hajime Hinata doesn't mind playing philosopher with him and clearly plans on doing something about his state.
