    He probably shouldn’t have gone on patrol. After having spend the week working his ass off on a murder case at the BPD, not sleeping more than 10 hours in 7 days, he should have listen to Wally. But hey, don’t blame his obsession with keeping this hell of a city safe.
    But if he had stayed at home sleeping,maybe he wouldn’t be spilling his blood at 4am on a building roof.
    Yeah he probably should have taken the offer of Jason to cover the city for him this weekend.

    “Dick!”
    Dick wasn't sure when exactly the world seemed to shift, his eyes staring steadily up at the sunset painted sky of Gotham. As a matter of fact, he wasn't too sure when he'd ended up on his back, his hair getting caught in all sorts of broken pavement pieces and miscellaneous bits of trash. He would have spent more time worrying about catching something if his shoulder didn't hurt so much.
    “Oh, God, Dick, hang on, let me get the bag!”
    Whoever was talking sounded as if they were underwater, or perhaps speaking through a busted radio. Dick blinked, his right hand rising towards his opposite shoulder. He didn't get far before something that felt vaguely like a hand wrapped in a nitrate glove wrapped around his wrist before he could make contact.
    “Jesus, don't touch it! Goddamn it! Dispatch, this is Medic 437, we have a medic down, we need ALS and PD backup now!”

    There were a lot of maybes and Dick just didn’t have the energy to try to sort through them all. He was tired, though it wasn’t an exhaustion that was the product of not enough sleep. It ran deeper than that, right through his skin and organs and veins and nestled deep within his bones; a weariness that had been growing ever so slowly over the years and had finally overtaken so much of his body, had dug its roots so far down that it would be impossible to separate one from the other.

    Dick tries to go back to work, tries to make sure everything goes back to the way it was, but he can't help but feel as if the past isn't done with him quite yet.
