"Yeah. Stop chasing your tail, Iz."

"I thought you were supposed to be convincing me to live." He's suddenly, violently, angry. "Doing a fucking shit job, Eddie. Did you come to rub my nose in it? Is that what this is?"

This was definitely not now Peter wanted to spend his day, absolutely the fuck not. He ducked to his left, picking up the pace in the closed alleyway. He wanted to go home, do his homework, call Ned to see if he was still up for meeting him, if not, patrol. But no, why would god leave him alone? Why would he give Peter one day of god damn peace? No, instead it decided that Peter needed a fucking creep. A stalker. A really creepy unnerving stalker. Peter did NOT like how this man looked at him.

"Izzy is left panting hard, still crouched over Stede's body, his teeth bared, and one arm clutching a dagger that faces outward, in case anyone gets any fucking ideas.
But when he blinks, the world around him has shifted. The entire crew is staring at him, Ed is staring at him, the fucking seagull is staring at him-
“Izzy,” Stede says very softly, from underneath him, “I'm quite alright. You protected me very well.”
Izzy's ears ring with whining he doesn't understand, and he shakes his head to clear the sound, his sight locking on Bonnet safe beneath him.
When he blinks again, arms are circling gently around his own. He growls, but a strong hand tweaks his wrist and he's forced to drop the knife. Those arms drag him backwards and he howls wildly, thrashing with his entire body to be set free.
“Shh, hon,” it's Spriggs's voice that comes to him, and Izzy can't bring himself to hate that he knows this voice so intimately, “he's safe. You're safe, too, but you're got to be hurting pretty bad, can't you feel it?”"
Or: Izzy learns that being taken care of when you're hurting can feel pretty good. Soft, more or less, with some blood.
