Summary
“You trying to get in trouble?” Robby whispers, suddenly close to his ear. The hand on Dennis’ hip squeezes, once, twice.
“You didn’t smoke,” Dennis realizes suddenly, hands dropping from Robby’s head.
Robby’s quiet for a second. “I didn’t.”
Outside, the party flares into a cheer. Someone’s singing; Perlah calls their names, asking how they are.
“Give us a minute,” Robby calls. “Technical difficulties.”
“That means the weed’s too strong,” Princess crows. “Take care of our boy, Robby!” The party echoes her, take care of our Huckleberry, our Dennis, our Whitaker.
“Hear that?” Robby says, rubbing Dennis’ hip. “I’m supposed to take care of you.”
Dennis gets too high at a party. Robby's there to help.

Summary
She’s drunk on the floor of Trinity and Whitaker’s living room, and they’re talking about nudes when she admits she’s taken them, but never built up the courage to send any. That it’s always felt awkward, that she’s never felt pretty or sexy or delicate enough, that it’s always felt cringe.
Trinity blinks at her in confusion. “But you’re hotter than the surface of the fucking sun. I’ve seen what’s under your scrubs, Samira. What do you fucking mean, not sexy enough?”
“Seriously, have you seen yourself?” Mel asks. “You could put anyone on their knees.”
++
Samira Mohan turns thirty, decides to buy herself lingerie about it, and takes some nudes. And then she accidentally texts one of them to Jack Abbot.

Summary
ManicZebra suggested on Twitter that Dennis must be endearing when he’s asleep. Robby agrees.
“He’d fallen asleep almost immediately afterward, rolling onto his belly, arms wrapped around the pillow, lips barely parted. It’s such a soft, small mouth, and the eyes so large, even when he’s asleep. And the tiredness betrayed by the dark half moons beneath. Robby, of course, does not sleep. Lying awake is nothing new to him, but this brand new guilt is. The guilt and the fierce affection mixed, the way he knows already that he’s only half-sated… and how certain he is of Dennis’ certainty too. (I’ll wanna do this again, he’d murmured in a muzzy voice as he fell asleep, I already know it.) But certainty isn’t wisdom. He’s made too many mistakes—at work and outside of it—to know that.”
