     Sapnap was not expecting to find Logstedshire’s portal broken in the nether. He cautiously walked around the portal and picked up the missing obsidian and lit the portal with his fire magic. 

     As Sapnap exited the portal, he was met with ash and the smell of fresh dirt. It looked like a bomb had gone off. Sapnap felt dread creep up his spine as he cautiously walked by the tent and came face to face with the crater that once housed the log home.

     But that wasn’t what held his attention.

     There was a tower of cobble, planks, and dirt that reached past the clouds. Below the tower, there was a small crater of sand and blood.

     Sapnap felt sick.

    “Not without Tommy, I’m afraid.” Dream says, his voice still even and horribly, horribly calm. Sapnap turns slightly, looking back at him. Tommy is frozen, unable to form a single syllable in his unyielding fear. His heart beats faster with each step Dream takes, like a great wolf closing in on its helpless prey. He is helpless, he can’t do anything to stop him from hurting him he’ll just take him away–

    Sapnap meets his gaze, understanding suddenly rippling through his expression. Tommy realizes that he does not have to explain his paralyzing terror. Because Sapnap can see it, he knows. And he has no love for Dream, he has no reason to help him.

    “No.” Sapnap says curtly, turning back to Dream. “He’s on Kinoko land, he’s under our protection.”

    -

    TLDR; After being saved from his tormentor by Sapnap, Tommy is given refuge (and maybe a family) in Kinoko Kingdom. Trauma talks over chocolate milk at midnight ensue.

    (Meanwhile, too many are people are out for revenge).

    Tommy blinked his eyes open slowly. Heart racing beneath his chest and breathing coming in shallow and frantic. He knew at this point not to scream after his nightmares. It attracts unwanted attention to his alley way home. Attention means people. People means attachment. And attachment means death.

     

    He’s only nine after all. People look at him with pity and want to be the hero, swooping in to pick him up and care about him. Give him love and attention.

     

    Tommy is strong. He has to be. He can’t let himself give into the love. Because if he does...

     

    Nightmare will strike again.

    Or, Every time Tommy loves someone, they die a horrible death to a monster that lives in his head. He’s promised himself that he would never get attached to anyone ever again. This Wilbur guy can’t seem to take a hint though.

    Or or, Wilbur sees a starving, lonely child and goes

    At first retirement had sounded like an excellent idea. Make a house far away from everyone else, get some peace and quiet, no longer concern himself with the total garbage that was the local government. Nice things, relaxing things.
