A wraith-like shadow crawled up a stack of shelves to reach a cardboard box full of take-out containers. Plucking one from the top, it wriggled over towards him and deposited the styrofoam in his hands. “Entomb your treasured memory within this pale sepulchre,” gravely intoned the crow’s head on a child’s body attached to the corporeal shade.
“…Thanks, I’ll do that,” said Clint, slipping in the photo.
“Want me to tape it up for you?” Another kid raised an elbow helpfully, from which dangled a length of cellophane tape that appeared to originate from within the joint.
“Uh, no, I’m good, thanks.”
“Aw man, nobody wants anything taped,” muttered the kid, turning to slink back to wiping tables.
