Summary
Now, Kara had a few options in this situation:
1. She could have stopped the bullet with her hand, but that would have blown her cover and everyone would know she was Supergirl.
2. She could get out of the bullet’s way and claim it was instinct, but someone behind her could get accidently shot.
3. She also could try to be quick enough to disappear and reappear as Supergirl, no one but Lena would miss her in this stressful situation. The problem was the damn paparazzi who would not stop taking pictures. His photos would point to her sudden disappearance and Supergirl’s appearance.So, Kara did the fourth best thing. She let herself get shot and pretended that bullet had actually hurt her.
OR
The one where Kara gets shot, kiss the girl and they have to pretend to date because someone had a camera.

The way Lena sees it is she has two options, either agree or disagree. Disagreeing could be dangerous. Kara seems like a sweet and innocent love child between a ‘care bear’ and a ‘my little pony’, but clearly she should’ve known better than to judge a book by its cover.
Or I'm terrible at summaries but please just read the strangers meet and step into a fake/pretend relationship with an interesting twist.

Summary
You know the situation where the girl pretends to be dating someone else so a guy won't talk to her/ask her out? That only works if the guy and the fake partner don't know each other.
Or Lena pretends Kara is her girlfriend, not knowing that James and Kara know each other.
