The front door was almost never locked which is why it wasn’t terribly surprising when Bran found his conversation interrupted by a teenager who entered the kitchen still with her backpack on and smelling of all the things a high school carried—perfumes, greasy lunches, poorly-cleaned classrooms, ancient textbooks, that funny scent laptops had (which he still didn’t have the words to describe), too much testosterone, and general body odor.
