Slowly, as if in a dream, he stretches a hand out towards Nie Mingjue; gone are his robes of starlight. The string between them shivers with the motion.or: how Nie Mingjue crosses the galaxy to find Lan Xichen, who has been missing for years since the Library of Gusu was burned, by following a red string that has never been his to see. (Featuring Nie Huaisang, wingman didi from the future who dug up a suspicious artefact and decided it would be a great idea to give it to Nie Mingjue in order to find out what it did.)

Summary
[Inspired by a tumblr post by lansplaining reimagining the Great Sects as individual stores in a weird little strip mall, which is so my jam it's not even funny]
It's midsummer in a mid-sized city like countless others scattered across America, and life for the families that own the cluster of businesses in the Jianghu Shopping Center on the edge of the town's business district is as full of small, pointless dramas as always. At least since everyone's here helping out for the summer they have the perfect excuse to hang out and pass the time that always seems to slow down molasses-thick and golden until the season's over.

Summary
Nie Mingjue wakes shortly before dawn, on a crisp, clear day. It’s foggy and mysterious, almost eerie - an effect made even so by the fact that there is… music coming from the beach.
The source of it is… impossible. It’s a mer. He’s sitting - laying, Nie Mingjue supposes, on a large, sloping rock, and he’s unlike anyone, anything that Mingjue has ever seen before.
OR, Nie Mingjue is a lighthouse keeper, and Lan Xichen is the merman who changes his life forever.
