Summary
Jason was supposed to protect the innocent, protect the kids, and his whole world view crumbled around him as he realized he couldn’t take it back. He would always be the type of child murdering scum that he’d been trying to rid Gotham of. He would always be a Robin killer.
How was he any better than the Joker?
Or, Jason thinks that he accidentally kills Tim at Titan's Tower. He doesn't handle it well.

It hurt. It hurt to breathe, air not coming out properly through his shattered ribs. He was bleeding out somewhere – everywhere – and thinking was getting harder and harder as the edges of his vision turned dark and blurry. It was harder to see the face of his old hero, his stretched out wings casting a shadow over them both. Those wings – Robin’s wings –, used to mean everything to him. Now they just mocked him. A sharp laugh echoed through the empty tower.
“Cuckoos can't fly with broken wings.”
As the world turned darker and the pain seemed to swallow him whole, all he could think of was how he hadn't been a bird in a long time.

Word traveled fast in Crime Alley.
It became yet another Alley-kid code word. If someone said they were telling Mama, that meant Jason Todd would get an earful while he planned out his next drug bust. If someone said Mama’s paying for dinner, it meant a free meal to any kid who showed up to the diner that day.
(or: "a toddler who was being saved by the red hood called him "mama" once and now crime alley kids will refer to him as mama all. the. time.")

Summary
“Jaybird!” Dick yells as soon as he pulls the double doors open, and Jason can see the trail of little ducklings behind him.
Duke, Steph, Cass, and Tim are in a neat line behind Dick, and they all look miserable. They’re all wearing pajamas, each with their own tissue box. Damian is standing apart from them with his arms crossed, and Alfred The Cat is perched precariously on his shoulder, but the illusion of an upset healthy prepubescent teenager is very obviously ruined by a very red nose, and the pale pallor of his normally deep tan.
Dick is the only one who doesn’t look miserable, and Jason laments his own health and simultaneously curses Dick’s extremely abysmal culinary abilities and prowess.
Jason has no words. He wants to step back, away from the sick children. He wants to go back to his germ-free apartment and watch the newest episode of Great British Bake Off with Roy.
He takes a step back.

Or, wherein Tim got his spleen taken by Ra's like in canon but little does everyone know that Jason had sold his spleen when he was a kid to try and get Catherine into rehab (and she still died of a drug overdose.)
