It’s a slave boy who says it to him, which Ilya finds extremely funny. His tone of voice is extremely judgemental, which is even funnier than the words themselves.
Ilya pulls the flask away from his mouth slowly, already feeling his lips quirking up against his will. Wiping his mouth on the back of his hand, he doesn’t bother hiding the way he looks the attractive young man up and down, like a predator eyes prey. The slave seems completely unintimidated, which only makes Ilya feel more amused.
“I don’t care,” he says back to the slave boy.
Unimpressed, the slave wrinkles his nose at him. The expression scrunches up all his cute freckles.
“You should care, considering you’re the new camp manager. You’re supposed to be setting a good example for the men.”

Ilya is the Roman legion's new Tesserarius. Shane is a pleasure slave, who belongs to the commander. He's very loyal, and very determined not to stray off his obedient path.Ilya knows he can change that. Ilya knows he can show Shane what pleasure actually feels like.
He just has to avoid Shane murdering him before his manages make the slave see stars.
