Summary
BT had felt fear, or a version of it, in his old chassis. Negative reaction to an unfavorable situation, an incentive to remove himself and his pilot from any danger. It was muted, logical, calm, nothing like human fear. The first few times he’d felt human fear in the new chassis it had seemed tolerable. Unpleasant, but something he could learn to live with.
In hindsight, he realized he only thought that because he hadn’t experienced real fear.

Mizuki wants to believe Toshiro-ojisan's advice. He wants to believe that curses can be broken. But does someone like him deserve that freedom?

Set almost immediately post-Titanfall 2, Jack Cooper comes to terms with everything that happened since he first landed on Typhon. He never thought just 24 hours could change his life so much, but all he can do now is move forward.
Spoilers for the whole game abound; this is a self-induglent fix-it for an eventual happy ending.

Summary
Way back in the days of Trinity Chassis, Titans didn't get sick, because they didn't have the programming complexity to allow for that.
They also didn't grieve over dead Pilots.
BT-7274 is not a Trinity Chassis, and Vanguards do most certainly grieve.
