Summary
Wei Wuxian has always been a proud omega, and a talented cultivator, and Lan Wangji had been drawn to him ever since he’d first met him at the Cloud Recesses.
After Wei Wuxian’s three-month disappearance, and the abrupt change in his personality, Lan Wangji’s feelings refuse to diminish, even as the rest of the cultivation world begin to turn against him. An unfortunately timed heat during the night hunt at Phoenix Mountain brought them together in a way that had Lan Wangji feeling equal parts elated and also sick with shame at the thought that he’d taken advantage of his soulmate.
When Wei Wuxian takes the Wen remnants and runs to the Burial Mounds, exiling himself from the gentry clans and declaring himself an enemy, he soon after realizes that the heat he shared with Lan Wangji has had consequences he’s not sure how to deal with.
They meet again at Yiling. Secrets are exposed, truths are told and the alpha makes a vow to do anything in his power to ensure the safety of his mate, his unborn child, and apparently a colony of 50 Wen refugees. Can he convince his brother and his uncle to go against the Jin sect?
