    Summary

    Something summoned Subaru in a different world, in the body of a demon named Linie. With a curse that lets her cheat at the cost of her death and sanity. Will Subaru fight it and win? Or will become the very thing everyone fears?

    Power here comes from after an unknown trigger, not leveling up. Subaru copies weapons and abilities she remembers from another life, but only after enough failed attempts against something break the ability open. Progress costs something every time: sanity and mind.

    Tone shifts by arc. Some chapters are grim, some are political, some are funny. Expect the register to change without much warning. POV rotates: not every chapter is Subaru's. Not comedy first. Not a power fantasy where she's always winning.

    She's a demon who used to be human, trying to build peace in a world that has never had it, walking toward an ending she doesn't know about yet.

    Fascinating concept, I've never really been a fan of anything Frieren: Beyond Journey's End related before, however after reading this I actually went and watched some of the anime and finally started enjoying it. A reminder to myself that this was so well written it upsold something I had little interest in before.

    Absolutely brilliant, read something like this years ago. However, this feels more well-polished and flows incredibly well. The interpretation of animal instincts vs sapience. Really enjoyed it and kept going back up after finishing a chapter to re-read it! Best thing I've read all of 2026. What made it even more fantastic was that just after I left this bookmark/subscribed a new chapter popped and didn't lose any of the previous chapter’s grandeur. 11/10. Definitely added to the re-read pile.

    Really enjoyable read, I bought Ravager when it first came out, however despite every improvement and update it is sad that the more you progress the less options there currently are to improve the lives of those you interact with.. Combined with the salaryman's perspective and constant misunderstandings that come from how they see the world this has the potential to be a perpetual present in the form of entertainment. 10/10
