   Summary

   What if Infinite wasn't banished to white space at the end of Sonic Forces? Somehow, the ruby was destroyed and his body remained. Beaten and bloodied in a heap of mangled black and white fur, the jackal was rendered powerless without the ruby... but somehow he survived. His injuries should have been lethal, and yet despite all odds the resistance was able to bring him back in one piece.
   Even though his actions justify a death sentence, Sonic is a firm believer in second chances. Everyone deserves a shot at life and if you fail once, try again. Entrusting a good friend and ex-rival to look after the prisoner, the resistance takes Infinite to one of the only mobians who is somehow qualified enough to rehabilitate him.

   It's not an easy journey, but one that Shadow unfortunately understands all too well.
