Summary
Years of being a feeder on the Black Market. Years of bouncing between renting vampires who ranged from physical abuse to false niceties only to be returned again and again so the cycle could repeat. It was a life Blue despised, but shamefully had given up hope of escaping. It was routine. Everything was routine. Even the terror that came with each new vampire he was rented out to had somehow become normal, and in truth, Blue counted on the same song and dance to learn how he was supposed to act with each new client for however long the renting period lasted.
So, when a dark tentacled skeleton vampire and his companion break the mold, goes against the standard behavior Blue expects and actually offers the first kernels of true kindness the small mortal has received since he had been kidnapped all those years ago? When he meets the mortals this so-called 'Nightmare' and his vampire housemates live with, only to find they are not afraid of their supposed predators? When he's told he's been rescued?
Maybe… maybe he can hope again. Maybe he can believe he wasn't going back to that empty cell of a display. Maybe…He can be a person again.

Unbeknownst to him, he was about to find more than just a home, and through gnashing teeth and sharp claws, Cross feels oddly at peace.

Summary
In a world of gods and guardians, it would be expected that some would fall for mortals, and inevitable in such cases that demigods would result.
Killer and Cross are two such beings, half god and half mortal. With abilities mortals shouldn't have, but also not quite as durable as full deities, they reside somewhere in the middle, and unfortunately certain people would take advantage of that. Without parents around who would protect them, they must fend for themselves as they run to escape the prison they were trapped in, and this was how they ended up inside a tentacled skeleton's mansion without knowing what they were getting into. While the brothers now must figure out who they can trust, Nightmare and his friends have to discover these two teenagers' past before what or whoever they are running from finds and drags them back into their personal hell.
Hopefully these two can warm up to the guardians and gods despite what they've been told...

It’s the aftermath of a more brutal XTale au, where Cross deals with PTSD and OCD, while trying to make a place for himself in the gang. It’s difficult, when you make mistakes left and right.
