He remembered so many times that sight gave him a groan of exhaustion after a long patrol, or a jitter of nerves as he calculated his approach.
Not today.
A grin broke over his face, and he let out a whoop of joy, changing direction to swing down onto the mostly deserted side street. The screams of the few passing pedestrians running in the opposite direction, some of them calling out encouragement to him for the upcoming fight as he passed, were like music.
Like a memory he feared he’d never relieve, back before him in blazing color.
And tomorrows problems could all fade off to be dealt with later.
{In which somethings never change, like the feeling of a glamor bullet passing 3/4 of an inch from your face...and maybe Scar shouldn't be so nostalgic for it. But it's been a rough three months, so you can't judge the guy.}

Summary
Noelle is a vampire. It's perfectly treatable - a few days under observation, a course of antivirals sent in from the big city, and she'll be her normal vegetarian self again. The only catch?
