Summary
Renoir sees his daughter lost along with his wife. Their lives drain into the ruined Canvas, leaving them still and pale and brittle. He leans against the bedrock of Aline's words, her lessons, her guidance. He's already lost too much. They all have. Renoir refuses to lose any more of his family.

Amazement to find her alive. Confusion, solidifying into regret that you’d ever stopped looking for her. But more than anything… relief.
Your big sister was here, and that meant that everything was going to be okay.
