It’s getting harder, remembering.
He knows who he is, he thinks. Or, knows enough to be a person anyway. Simon Arish, Acting Co-Director of the FBC, a fancy title for a guy who’s job it is to send people to their deaths. He’d never wanted that. It was different for Pope; she didn’t wanna be Acting Co-Director any more than he did, especially given what it meant for Jesse, but she liked heading up Research, got a thrill out of untangling the mysteries, however horrifying, and finding solutions where she could. Arish never even wanted to go into management after Ranger training fell through. He’d been perfectly content in Security, perfectly content protecting people.
He doesn’t remember the last time he protected shit.
Here, wherever here is, there’s no one for it to matter either way.

It was floating above the road by itself, and still is. Honestly it looks like it popped back into place on its own, possibly bc of the world knitting itself back together.
