Summary
"Are you married?”
Christopher coughed so hard he nearly dropped his phone.
Buck choked on nothing.
Eddie said, “No.”
Theo turned to Buck. “Why?”
Buck’s mouth opened.
Eddie got there first. “Because you have to ask someone before you marry them.”
Theo considered this.
Then he looked at Buck. “Did you ask?”
“No,” Buck said quickly.
Theo looked at Eddie. “Did you ask?”
“No.”
“Why?”
Christopher whispered, “Great question.”

Summary
“What are you wearing?” Buck asks.
Eddie’s laugh is sharp and loud, not having expected Buck to say that.
“Really? That’s the best you’ve got?”
“Eddie. It’s a classic. Tell me.”
“What if I said I’ve got nothing on?” Eddie asks, purposely pitching his voice lower.
“Hey,” Buck scolds him. “First rule of phone sex: no lying.”
“There are rules?”
“You are so difficult.”
Eddie tells Buck to text him whenever he's thinking of Tommy, so he doesn't have to keep baking. Safe to say, things...escalate.

Summary
“I think I know a secret,” Theo says, voice now softened to a whisper.
“Oh, you do?” Theo beckons him forward, so Chris makes a big show of leaning towards him.
“Buck and Eddie make each other happy,” Theo whispers. “They’re married.”
-----
Buck and Eddie are not married. They really should be, though. Chris and Theo help with that.

Summary
“I lied,” Buck blurts out, sheepishly. “You seemed so relaxed while you were sleeping, and with the extra shift you covered yesterday… I just wanted you to rest.”
“You lied about what?” he asks, even though he has a pretty good guess.
“About the time,” Buck confesses, then adds, smiling at him, bashful, “I also turned off your alarm.”
(Or, five times Eddie feels something as Buck takes care of him, plus one time he realizes what it means, and kisses Buck about it.)

Summary
His heart wants Eddie, his soul aches for him, but his mind is stuck in an endless loop of reasons why he should keep him away.
He wishes it was easier. Wishes that wanting Eddie to be happy was enough for him to let go completely, instead of grasping at the string that connects them, knowing full well that it might snap and leave him without anything to hold onto at all in the blink of an eye.
Wishes that letting him go wasn't one of the most difficult, if not the most difficult, thing he has ever had to do, even when he knows that it's the right one to do.
Or, Eddie leaves for Texas. Buck copes and goes through the motions, until he doesn't.
