One can only be given so many chances before those chances are all but exhausted.
Reagan knew this from personal experience. She'd wasted a lot of them, the ones her parents gave her, her teachers, her friends. Now, she was on her last chance. When her aunt offered to take her in for a year, to get her life back on track, Reagan agreed to it more out of necessity rather than desire. Now, because of that choice, she was in New York City; with its towering skyscrapers and misty waters, it was an ominous visage. She tried to think of it as a new beginning rather than a new type of prison, but she never did consider herself much of an optimist.

Summary
After being diagnosed with haemophilia, a young woman, Maeve, seeks help in the most infamous of places; the great city of Yharnam. Home to the Healing Church, a holy organization who resides in the towering stone cathedrals, and to the blood that cures all ailments, from mild conditions to the most grievous of afflictions. Maeve has only heard tales of the greatness that rests in the heart of the peculiar and hushed city, and Yharnamites are slow to trust outsiders. It is only when she arrives, awakening inside an unfamiliar clinic whilst in the middle of a blood transfusion, that she begins to see Yharnam and its denizens for what they really are. The Hunt is on, and she is caught in the midst of it. With no way to return to her home, Maeve is forced to participate in this Hunt, to rely on intuition, and to battle the beasts and mad citizens that roam the streets. She has only one thread of advice;
"Seek Paleblood to transcend the hunt."
