Summary
When Giyuu was four, his mother took him and his sister to see the ocean for the first time.
It’s only six months before her death, six months before he and Tsutako became orphans, and if Giyuu is honest, his memories of that day have long since faded. He knows they took a train, knows Tsutako was the first to rush into the water still warm from summer’s fading light. He knows he was more reluctant, that he held his mother’s hand while he watched the waves crash upon the shore.
“Are you afraid?” she asked, her frail fingers carefully intertwined with his own. Giyuu shook his head. “No? I didn’t think so. Do you not want to swim then?” He shook his head.
“I want to stay with you,” he said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Together they walked across the beach, the ocean eagerly nipping at their feet. Eventually Giyuu will swim, eventually the water will take him as her own. But not today.
Today he was his mother’s son.
Blood in the house. Blood on the mountain. Blood in the water.
Alternatively: a nonlinear study of Tomioka Giyuu.

Summary
Sanemi had always had nightmares. Mostly about his mom. Sometimes about his friends. Never about Genya. Because Genya was alive, and Sanemi had promised himself – promised himself – that Genya was the one who got to live. But then… Things never went the way that Sanemi meant them to. And Genya had different plans.
--
In the weeks after the final battle, Sanemi struggles to come to terms with his brother’s death, drowning in nightmares, his heart as broken as his body. Stuck with the Water Hashira, Giyu Tomioka, at the Butterfly Mansion as they recover, Sanemi learns to navigate the fragile space between grief and healing and slowly learns that the happiness Genya wanted for him might not be as impossible as it once seemed.Series

Summary
A piece of rebar to the heart wasn't really the way Dean had planned to go out, but these things happen. It's over now; everything's over, and now he's in Heaven. It's a beautiful Heavenly day, on a beautiful Heavenly road, and there's even a Heavenly cassette tape playing a perfect Heavenly song. The last war is over; they won it all, victorious at last, and now all Dean wants to do is drive.
The song plays, and Dean drives.
At last he's at peace.
Or is he?

Summary
Cas comes back from the empty. Human, and without memory.
There’s resilience to be said about the human spirit, though, and how after everything- we still have our souls. They tie us together in ways beyond reason, and Cas doesn’t know why- but he knows these people, they’re important. He feels it.
With this work, my primary thesis has been expressing a parallel to Castiel's Despair confession with Dean's expression of feelings here. Because as I see it, Castiel's confession is less about him expressing himself and it's more about getting Dean to feel loved and earning of that love and understanding that he's made of more good parts than bad because that love exists. So essentially through the angst of Castiel's memory loss, we gain something else here- his ability to view his life and his relationships from an outside perspective. Unmarred by his previous transgressions and the years between them, there's a clearer perspective to be gained as to the extent of care surrounding him, fitting him in a place to newly see the depth of care for him.
