Summary
Eddie pulls the glass doors open as Chris cackles loudly, and the sound dissolves every single crumb of anxiety from her body in an instant. The woman turns when she hears the door open, and Eddie feels her breath catch in her chest. She’s beautiful; loose curls hang over her face, her eyes are wide and so blue it's piercing, she has pretty pink lips pulling soft full cheeks into a grin, and over one of her eyes is a matching pink birthmark. Eddie can't stop staring, words strangled in her throat, and all she does is stand in the doorway. Her only saving grace is that the woman stares back just as intensely, a watercolor of red blush painting across her features.
alternatively, eddie deals with an earthquake and then a very pretty teacher at chris' school

Summary
"How about the next time we go out, I'll dress you up?" Buck whispers, giggling deviously. Eddie imagines her lying down, chubby fingers twirling her hair, eyes bright with mischief. Eddie wants to pry her ribcage open and curl inside of her.
"Dress me up how?" she asks, intrigued.
"Oh, Eddie," Buck starts, sighing dreamily. The sound goes straight to Eddie's gut. "A black crop top and— and— to show off those arms, you know?" Buck continues. Eddie can hear the soft, distinct rustle of bedcovers sliding against Buck's body.
"Buck?"
"They're so big, Eddie," Buck continues, unperturbed. "So strong. Sometimes I— mmh, sometimes I look at them and want to bite into them."
Eddie freezes, feeling as if the only movement shaking her entire body apart is the thudding gallop of her heart. "Buck, you're drunk, let's just—"
"It's a secret," she whispers shyly. "Don't tell anyone, okay?"

Summary
He’s not stupid. It took him some time — years — but Eddie’s half certain that, should his patience snap one day, should he lean in across the way one night when it’s just the two of them, should he palm at Buck’s jaw to bring his face closer and kiss him on the mouth, Buck would kiss him back. That’s not the problem.
The problem is that Eddie’s gonna ruin it.
He’s ruined every other romantic relationship in his life. If it happens with Buck, Eddie knows neither of them will come back from it.
These days, he’s content with having Buck the way he does now. He may succumb to weakness, sometimes, like he just did in the kitchen, holding Buck like that, but Eddie’s willpower is the stuff of legend. He’s happy with his place in Buck’s life. He can play the part of codependent best friend, dad who stepped up, platonic soulmate.
The main issue here, really, hindsight twenty-twenty and all, is that Eddie really misses being a husband.
or: five times eddie, willing and knowing, acts like buck's husband, and one time he. well. you can guess where this is going.

Summary
The man rolled his body again, but this time it wasn’t only his chest; it was like he was trying to get as close to Eddie as possible before he spun him again. This was different from any dance lesson that Buck had ever seen, and then the man caught Eddie and dipped him.
A breathless, surprised laugh escaped Eddie’s lips, and when the man brought him back up, their noses brushed, each breath fanning across the other’s face. Both of the man’s hands settled on Eddie again—not on his shoulders, not on his back, but low on his hips, his fingers curling over the beginning of that curve.
This was not a dance lesson.
or,
Eddie moves in with Buck while his sisters settle in LA, and suddenly he's coming home from weekly dance nights flushed, sweaty, and happier than Buck has ever seen him.Buck is thrilled for him. Really. The fact that he's secretly in love with Eddie is nobody's problem but his own.
Then Eddie invites him to the club, and Buck discovers there's something worse than being left out of Eddie's new life: having a front-row seat.
