See what happens when the school year is cut short by certain events, and see how Hapi and Lysithea eventually meet up again during the inter-Byleth period.

I originally wrote this in bits and pieces while posting a playthrough blog of Sacred Stones. I ended up enjoying writing the story as much as playing the game, so I decided to revise it and share it here.

Summary
Lysithea von Ordelia doesn’t have a nice, neat answer when someone asks her how she met her wife. She knows exactly when and how they met—during a disaster of a field exercise organized by the Garreg Mach Officers’ Academy—but that isn’t the problem. They weren’t classmates, and there wasn’t any reason for someone with actual studying to do to speak to a mercenary with more swords than brains, so they just didn’t.
Then, the Academy closed, time passed, war broke out, darkness stirred, allegiances shifted—and she discovered just how wrong her first impression was.
Eventually, anyway. Shez has a tendency to put her foot in her mouth, after all.

Summary
By Fódlan's calendar, it's Imperial Year 1253, though it's been nearly seventy years since Claude left the country. The Officers Academy, the years of war, the friends and hopes and dreams he buried... all those things are a thousand miles and a lifetime away. Claude has barely even thought of them in half a century.
Then an unexpected guest arrives at his humble Almyran estate, and it's like she's walked straight out of his memory and onto his doorstep. The United Kingdom of Fódlan was left stunned and grieving when their queen disappeared a few years ago, but she’s alive—and while time has weathered Claude’s body and withered his senses, she doesn't seem a day older than when he last saw her, back when he was still a brash young man whose world had yet to be changed forever.
He could tell her to leave. He could say the word and have her back in Fódlan or sitting in an Almyran dungeon before the week is out. But there’s serenity in no longer being the last of a dying breed. Claude could use some company in the quiet and lonely days of his retirement, and seeing a familiar face after all this time might do Teach some good, too.

Hapi, Edelgard, Ingrid, and Marianne all attend Garreg Mach University. After two years of dorm life, they decide to room together for their junior year. Four friends renting a house together... it'll be the time of their lives, right?
While they upgraded from dirty dorm showers to the leaky faucets that their landlord will never fix... there's definitely drama brewing under their roof. Between late night study sessions and exams, each of the girls try to balance a social life, find love in the culture of dating apps and hookups, and finally decide on what to wear to Friday's party. (Well, only if they can decide what to order for dinner, first.)
Follow along as Hapi and the girls try to set up Marianne on dates with some of GMU's most eligible bachelors... as Ingrid plays detective, trying to piece together the events of her own (most amazing) drunk hookup at the frat party... and as Edelgard finally agrees to the most epic Spring Break road trip ever.

Byleth Eisner lived her life as something less than human; an emotionless Ashen Demon, until a chance encounter awakened the humanity that slumbered within her.
This story is a novelization of the events of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, following the Crimson Flower story but using events from the other stories, Cindered Shadows included, to tell the full story of the game. Think of it as "complete" story, not a golden story, and don't come in expecting every character to make it out alive.
There's a heavy emphasis on character-building moments and the slow growth of the Black Eagles and their allies, and I do my best to avoid simple direct portrayals of in-game cutscenes after the first few chapters. The pace is slow but steady, and I keep a strict upload pace of one chapter every other week.
