The air was thick with the coppery stench of blood. Gently, almost delicately, Zhou Zishu disengaged his fangs from the dead man’s throat. He licked his lips absentmindedly, catching some of the drops of sweetness before they could join the rest of the growing puddle on the floor, where the corpse was now slumped. The taste of the blood made his stomach start to pay attention, but he wasn’t here to feed.
