    Summary

Sometimes Maddie looked at him and she thought she was missing a puzzle piece. He would say something or do something or flinch away from something and Maddie knew - she knew - that she was missing something vital. “Oh, Evan,” she sighed and squeezed his hand tighter, pulling it away so that she could tangle his fingers in hers. “You don’t like her. I get it.”

“You don’t get it.” He muttered but he didn’t pull his hand away, shoulders slumped as they were.

This was one of those moments. One of the moments where Maddie knew she was just one piece off from finishing the puzzle. Just one more piece to click into place and she would see the whole picture. “Then walk me through it.”

    Summary

A Soulmate was a definitive thing. And a Freezing soul only meant one thing:

Your Soulmate doesn’t want you. And without their love, without their acceptance, you’ll die.

At first, Buck didn’t realize why he was so cold. But it was true; because of this dumb lawsuit, Eddie rejected him. Buck would die. Buck was dying.

He was nothing to anyone. He’d fade away, freezing from the inside out, ice in his veins, in his soul. And no one would even care.

    Summary

He knows he could have called Maddie and she would have been there, though the memory of her disappointment last time stopped him. As for everyone else—even if he weren’t prohibited from talking to them by his lawyer, Buck doubts anyone would have come. The last time they talked was when they ran into each other in the grocery store a week back, and, since Buck is not eager for a repeat of that interaction, he doesn’t even consider calling anyone in to hold his hand for what is, he tells himself, probably just another little blip on his road back to the 118.

He is able to convince himself of this up until the moment Dr. Gutierrez walks into his room and says, “Well, Evan, you just can’t seem to do anything the easy way, can you?”

Because, as it turns out, there is a circumstance under which a tiny clot that doesn’t cause you to vomit blood in front of all of your friends and family is worse than three big ones that do: that circumstance is called ‘being on blood thinners.’
    ***
In the midst of the lawsuit, Buck is diagnosed with cancer. Dropping the lawsuit is easy. Finding forgiveness, less so.

    Summary

In September of 1971, Severus Snape finds a forgotten portrait of the Slytherin family in a dark corner of the Slytherin Common Room. At the time, he has no idea that talking portrait will affect the rest of his life.

On 31st July 1995, Harry Potter disappears from Little Whinging a few minutes after midnight. The means of his departure are unfathomable, and the Order's only relief in their concern is the fact that Voldemort was not responsible.

The rest of Wizarding Britain is too busy tearing down their Wizarding Savior via the press to be much concerned, at least until certain Slytherin allies decide that enough is fucking well enough.

Adore this series so much, that I've lost track of the number of times I've read it. So well thought out, so well planned and so intricate while seemingly effortless.... cannot praise it high enough. Amazing worldbuilding, amazing characterization, amazing lore.... I just love it so much.

Wow. Such a powerful story, not normally a Ginny fan - never found a story that writes her as more than the 'tomboy sister of 6 brothers, wife of the Boy-Who-Lived'. This story captures everything I didn't know I needed from Ginny. Such excellent writing, keeps you gripped until the end.
