i really enjoyed this fic. i don't usually see fanfics based off of scarlet & violet, mostly because i don't think a lot of people finished the game from the lag that a lot of systems faced, but the characterization of everyone in the fic is really fun to read.
i love how larry just saw himself as a normal guy — he didn't understand that someone who seems just like a regular person is really rare in gym leaders, and most gym leaders have some strange eccentric behavior. on the other hand, he's way more relatable, and that can make him more well-liked than someone who has way more fans otherwise.
it's fun to see his reactions to all of his fans and his success as just another job he has to do, but mostly finds joy in small everyday joys (like the food at Treasure Eatery). it's fun to see how much he cherishes his city and the people around him.

All I ever wanted was a date, you gorgeous insane man, Ranpo thinks miserably as Poe stares at him with a maniacal smirk behind bangs even thicker than before. Why are you doing this to me? Did I really mess up that bad?
Ranpo pretends not to remember him at first. It's the only way to preserve his dignity while he's actually trying not to crumble under the weight of his stupid twenty year old past-self, and usually he'd rather DIE than call himself stupid.
But slowly, the embarrassment fades. Because Ranpo realises something that day, something that makes his brain stir with a very unfamiliar emotion that he thinks is called 'longing'.
Poe is so much more brilliant than Ranpo could have ever imagined.
