    The Supe continued on, seemingly unbothered, “Look, I know it may seem like Vought is absolutely swimming in Compound V, but the truth is that V is wildly expensive. We can’t just be wasting it on someone we’re intending to kill immediately, understand?”

    What the fuck is he talking about. There’s no way he would have—

    The pounding of his blood became a deafening thrum. His eyes grew hot and began to fixate on nothing.

    It was no secret that Hughie wasn't quite cut out for his current line of work, but he wanted so desperately to make a difference; to avenge Robin somehow. He threw his entire life away for this. He would see it to the end even if that meant dying horrifically at the hands of a Supe.

    He thought that was the worst that could happen to him while working with The Boys. Dying on the job. Homelander seemed intent to prove him wrong.

    With an exasperated sigh, Homelander turned away from the IV bag. “I knew you’d say that. So, I took out a little insurance policy.” He left the room suddenly and came back in, dragging someone by the collar of their shirt.

    Hughie’s breath caught in his throat. “Dad?”

    Or: Alternate take on S2, Ep3. Homelander abducts Hughie after the incident with the whale and injects him with Compound V to fulfill his plan of taking down Butcher once and for all. An unwilling accomplice, Hughie must follow Homelander’s instructions, lest his father suffer the consequences.
