Summary
She’s drunk on the floor of Trinity and Whitaker’s living room, and they’re talking about nudes when she admits she’s taken them, but never built up the courage to send any. That it’s always felt awkward, that she’s never felt pretty or sexy or delicate enough, that it’s always felt cringe.
Trinity blinks at her in confusion. “But you’re hotter than the surface of the fucking sun. I’ve seen what’s under your scrubs, Samira. What do you fucking mean, not sexy enough?”
“Seriously, have you seen yourself?” Mel asks. “You could put anyone on their knees.”
++
Samira Mohan turns thirty, decides to buy herself lingerie about it, and takes some nudes. And then she accidentally texts one of them to Jack Abbot.

A slow grin spreads across Jack’s face. “You think I’m handsome?”
Her cheeks flush, spine straightening. “I also said ridiculous,” she tries to deflect, reaching for her beer.
“Ridiculously,” he corrects, eyebrows rising, grin deepening his dimple, “followed by handsome.”

Summary
“What the hell are you doing here?” Abbot asked. He nodded for her to continue walking
“A physician walking into a hospital just before shift change,” She watched as a grin spread across his face. “It’s a riddle no one has been able to crack.”
“You’re finally working nights?”
“I switched with Ellis,” She said. “So, you’re stuck with me for the next three days.” Her steps faltered. “Finally?”
“Are you serious? I’ve been trying to poach you from day shift since PittFest.”
“Really?”
“Really.” His response was almost instant. “You were incredible. The IO borehole, the pigtail catheter; I’m going to be talking about that for the rest of my life. Of course I want you for night shift.”

Summary

Summary
Abbot likes her. It’s clear to her that he likes her, but Samira is forbidden fruit. She is a resident fifteen years his junior. She is strung out, neurotic, and not easily bent. A perfect pet project, she supposes.
There are fixers in this world, and there are those in need of fixing. Samira would put herself firmly in the fixer category, but she isn’t sure if Dr. Abbot would agree. If anyone else would agree. How long would it take him to fix her? How long would he be willing to tend to her, tucking strands of hair behind her ear, forcing warm drinks between her palms, and pressing gentle kisses against her cheeks?
There's something to be said about forbidden fruit.
