Summary
Sacrificing something of yours - your own happiness, your chance to walk hand-in-hand with your boyfriend - to stay in the closet is fine (well, not necessarily fine, but sure as hell your own choice). But sacrificing something that belongs to others? That isn't really forgivable, is it?

Summary
“Well, we will get right to it,” Chelsea clapped her hands together and then sat. “You know we were ecstatic about the chance to have both you and Shane on the team. Ever since he joined, Shane’s Centaurs jersey has sold out twice, and the ticket sales have skyrocketed.”
Ilya shifted uncomfortably, and he opened his mouth to remind them that his own jersey had also sold well during his first year on the team, and it continued to sell well, but he saw Farah shift in his peripheral vision and stopped.

Summary
It was like he was drawn to the podcasts, the articles that went on ad nauseam about how much the Metros blamed Shane for the loss, or the thinkpieces about how Shane’s trip was unforgivable to team members and to the city of Montreal as a whole. He had stopped listening to Man in the Crease weeks ago, at Hunter's suggestion, but he couldn’t bring himself to stop everything.
Maybe he was hoping that just one of them would speak well of him. Hoping that maybe one person would understand that the accusations of cheating were so far below what Shane would do that a conversation about them was laughable.
