Summary
Ever since Aizawa and Yamada brought home Eri, Hitoshi keeps spacing out.
One moment he's fine and present and everything is good and the next she laughs or says something or their guardians are paying her attention and Hitoshi loses time and bits of himself.
He never knows how much time has passed by the time he finds back to himself, but it's clearly not enough to be noticeable, because no one has said anything yet.
It's just one of his many creepy, annoying quirks, he's sure of it and it's no wonder that no one has noticed yet. Noticing means dealing with it and why would they, when they have their hands full with Eri these days?
Hitoshi adores her—he thinks he would be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't—but he thinks he also hates her.
At the very least he's jealous of her, of the attention she's getting, of the family she's getting because her getting all of that means—he won't.

Summary
Hitoshi stares up at the ceiling of the room. It's the middle of the night and he should be asleep but it's not as if Hitoshi expected anything else.
He barely sleeps and by now he's no longer sure if he's simply wired like that or if his childhood spent in hyper-vigilance has made him like that, but it's not as if there's a chance for him to change it.
Sleep, to him, comes in twenty to forty minutes bursts; after that he jerks up, as if it's unsafe, as if he needs to check his surroundings in those set intervals and Hitoshi has long since stopped being angry about it.
Being angry takes energy and he barely has any these days and the little he does have, he needs for something else. Training with Aizawa is exhausting most of the time, a mix of not enough food, not enough sleep and the general struggle of physically training and for a few desperate nights Hitoshi had hoped that maybe that exhaustion would be enough to actually make him sleep.
What a fool he'd been.

Summary
Hitoshi slowly makes his way through the park, hands shoved into his pockets in an attempt to keep them warm and his eyes roaming the area.
He has been here at night often enough to know that no one lingers in this part of the park, but it's always better to be safe than sorry and so he keeps his vigilance up, even as he gets closer and closer to his normal bench.
It's too cold to sleep there tonight; when the temperatures fall below zero like they have for the last couple of nights, it's always best to keep moving, keep the blood going by staying on his feet and so it's not as if Hitoshi is even going to use his bench tonight, but it's always good to check it out regardless.
If someone else laid claim to it, he needs to know so there are no evil surprises the next night he wants to sleep on there.

"No."
The answer is resolute and instant; there's no doubt about the fact that Katsuki means it and Hitoshi thinks he should be jerking back, he should have any kind of reaction to it, but all that happens is that he goes quiet, still.
