A small, fur covered head slowly poked out from the neck. One with white, tent like ears and big, familiar, muddy green eyes he loved so dearly. Which now stared up at him in mute horror. A shocked expression that almost matched the one Remy had as he blinked down at them. His brain took a few seconds to realize what had happened.
“Oh chére,” he finally said with a relieved, amused sighed, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he tried to hold back a laugh. “What Gambit to do wit’chu you now?”

It was going well. It was going great, actually. He'd gotten through security absolutely unseen, grabbed that pretty little jewel, and almost got out.
Until the night guard had decided that he needed another coffee, and Remy had thrown himself against a wall to stay out of his sight. That was fine, too. A master thief is supposed to be a master of improvisation— a guard's erratic caffeine runs were hardly a real difficulty.
