In which Caduceus has started a textiles course, because he needed to get out of a house he hadn't left in years. Because.. he's not sure. He's trying to figure it out. It's a lot though, and friends are hard to come by.

Essek remembers being young, so young. He remembers his Umavi's fingers on his chin, lifting his head up, so he could lay eyes on a Beacon for the first time. He remembers the way the Dunamis in the room tasted on his tongue; the impossibility of looking away; the feeling of strings in his soul, being plucked at their natural frequency for the first time, resonating.
In the quiet hours of the morning, he can admit that it is unsurprising that for years, he called that feeling faith.
