“This is a work dinner,” Alicent reminds her, though they both know that’s not true. If this were a work dinner, Alicent would wear a skirt that went to her knees. Instead, her dress barely covers her ass and she is sitting in Rhaenyra’s personal car and her work phone is off. Alicent is almost certain she’ll have to put out about thirty fires the moment it’s back on, but right now, it is disturbingly off. Alicent feels as if she has snuffed out her own child in doing so.
The dialogue is great!

Deborah clears her throat and taps on the seat number. “You’re in my seat.”
“This is my seat.” The woman holds out her phone, and Deborah can see an email from the airline with the aisle seat highlighted.
“Was,” Deborah corrects, flashing her a showman’s smile. She holds out her printed ticket. “Unless you’d like me to get the stewardess again.”

“I’m not flirting,” Deborah gasps. She knows how to flirt, and it definitely doesn’t involve comfortable travel clothing and minimal makeup and a crowded airport.
“You keep pointing out how big my hands are.” Ava starts ticking her points off one-by-one on those giant catcher’s mitts of hers. It’s like she’s daring Deborah to say something about them, but she’s not going to give in this time—not if it’s, apparently, a form of gay flirting. “You touched me, like, casually. You bought me a drink. You laughed at my jokes.”
“They were funny.”
“There you go complimenting me!”
“You laughed at my jokes,” Deborah shoots back. “And you bought me a drink. And you held my hand.”
“Because I was flirting with you, you dumbass!”
“Why would you do that?”

Summary
It's been five days since Alicent jetted off to her big academic conference, and Rhaenyra's sitting in her car with her nose buried in Alicent's favorite sweater, just to stay sane.
Alicent's only been gone five days. She'll be back in two more. But Rhaenyra's always been a bit clingy, and being pregnant definitely hasn't made it any easier.
(In which Rhaenyra may or may not be going through a low-grade pregnancy heat and may or may not have declined to tell Alicent, because Alicent's got enough to worry about as it is.)

Summary
Weeks go by after Rhaenyra breaks things off with Harwin before she remembers the bracelet. In a blind panic, she rush-orders a new one and shows it to Alicent the following morning as she’s hauling in their groceries.
“I should have asked you first, I know, but it’s only temporary and it’s only for emergencies anyway—” because there’s Rhaenyra’s new bracelet, fresh out of the packaging and looking exactly like the old one except for the name Alicent Hightower engraved on the inside, with Alicent’s phone number underneath. “No, sure,” Alicent says, “That’s fine.” And it is. It’s fine.
(In which Alicent may or may not be in love with her roommate, and may or may not get a bit too curious about said roommate’s knotting toy.)
