Summary
Kris has a headache.
They bring a hand out to fumble semi-blindly for a lukewarm glass of water on their dresser. They throw it back with a grimace. Stale.
———
Kris puffs out a breath of air and leans forward precariously. "You'll catch me," they say.
Susie practically guffaws up at them. "Like hell I will!" She drops the pen and bends her knees, bringing her arms up halfway in front of her. An interesting pose for someone who has decided to not catch them, Kris thinks.
"You've thrown me before. It's like the same thing."

Summary
Noelle and Kris talk after a very long day. Neither of them really want to. All they've got is each other.
She studied the side of their face, the only part she could see from her angle. It was strange, seeing the blue tint to their skin. It was fitting, somehow. They looked cold. She saw a muscle in their cheek jump, their lips screwed into a thin line. She stared at their profile, and almost didn't notice the shadow move next to them. Out of the corner of her eye, the darkness seemed to shift. It changed shape languidly, almost fluid.
———
She feels like something has clicked right into place. Like a dislocated joint was yanked back, how it used to be before.
It hurts.

Summary
She huffed angrily down at them, looking like she was itching for a fight. Kris knew the feeling. They wouldn’t admit it, but sometimes they liked pissing her off. And it was pretty obvious she liked to take whatever she was frustrated with out on them too.
They didn’t mind.
They looked up at her, at her crossed arms and snarling face. No one else in Hometown looked at them like that.

Summary
Curly wonders.
He hears movement in the room. And then Jimmy is there, in his peripheral. There’s some more shuffling before Jimmy finally approaches. He leans over him, looms. He places a hand carelessly on Curly’s shoulder, and it’s agony. There’s a pop from below, which Curly assumes is the release of the lid from the painkiller bottle. Not that he can see it. Couldn’t move his head enough to know what Jimmy's doing, no matter how curious he is.

Summary
thinkin bout klaus.
———
If Klaus were a better person, he might have told Five that drinking coffee at 2:30 in the morning wasn't healthy, but who was he to judge people on what they were consuming at questionable hours?
So it was quiet. Nothing but a steady stream and the occasional grinding sound from the machine. Five tapped rhythmically on the cover of the book in his right hand, and Klaus simply listened. He leaned back in his chair, and closed his eyes. Five opened the cabinet for a mug as Klaus’ thoughts silenced. He drifted.

Summary
One night, Dabi is caught in a battle with a few other League members and gets hit by someone's Quirk. It exhausts him and he passes out in his bed as soon as they return to the hideout, thinking the light was nothing. The next morning, 8-year-old Touya wakes up terrified and confused in the hideout of the League of Villains, fifteen years in his future, while 23-year-old Dabi wakes up terrified and confused in Endeavor's house, fifteen years in his past. How will Touya cope with being babysat by villains until the League finds a cure? How will Dabi cope with caring for his siblings as children again? How will the other characters cope with the stark differences between the boy Touya was and the man Dabi became?

Summary
The puzzle pieces judder together with horrifying clarity. Standing in the center of the room, she can see the full picture. Everything missing from the phone, the fragments of herself in the dorm, the odd inflection in Kris’ voice.
This isn’t a dream. It isn’t the Dark World. But it is, impossibly, an alternate world entirely.
Kris sighs again, muttering something to themself. “Do you need me to come over? Are you alone?”
“Kris, I think I’m in the wrong world,” she manages.

Summary
Something in this space between her and Kris has shifted— an old fracture testing the tension of new bone tissue. It's just seven days. One hundred and sixty-eight hours. Really, that's no time at all, but it hasn’t been just her and Kris since they were children, back before everything went wrong. Since then, there has always been some outlying third factor: Susie, or Dess, or the SOUL, or the distance between them.
They're inches away, hands close enough that she can feel the heat radiating off their skin, and she doesn't know how to close the space.
(or: one week and five dates where noelle tries to define what she and kris are.)

Summary
The illusion of solitude has been shattered now, and Kris will probably close the piano. Like all the other times when Noelle tried to connect with them on a level in which they didn’t wish to be understood.
They open and close their mouth a few times. Their eyes are wide, as if surprised to hear their own voice.
Kris turns to face them a little bit better. “Any song requests?”
Noelle blinks. What?
Susie and Noelle overhear Kris playing the piano. A conversation without the SOUL ensues.

Summary
As the vines constrict around him, Ralsei wriggles desperately. “Kris, I think there’s some kind of poison in these thorns! I don’t know what it is, but Susie’s been inflicted!”
Kris takes a hesitant step backwards, and Susie takes one forward. Cutting Ralsei free should be their current priority, and yet Susie is idly staring right at them, gaze sharp enough to pierce armor.
“Hey,” Susie breathes, suddenly so close. “Is it just me, or did you get way cuter?”
The heroes encounter the most dangerous magic of all: a love spell.
