It bears no relevance to the point at hand; that there seems to be someone else and John has no prior claim. John’s perfectly happy to continue as they are. On cases they introduce each other as partners. The rest of the time, should it come up, as friends. John is content. Sherlock seems to be. Nothing needs to change."
