"The rules are to keep you safe and clean, Frank. You know drinking isn't good for you, I don't want to have to send my boy to rehab again," Robby said. He almost sounded sincere.
That's what Frank let himself believe, at least. That his dad loved him, that his dad only wanted what was best for him. That whatever dynamic they'd fallen into was okay, was good if it meant it was out of love. Frank could forget how Robby hadn't been a part of his childhood and how his dad really just craved control over all else. He could forget, he would forget, if it meant getting to feel like his dad loved him.or
Frank comes home with booze on his breath and his dad needs to punish him for it.

Summary
Jack and Robby have been Dennis' caregivers for a few months now, having taken him in after learning of his designation and finding out he didn't have a consistent caregiver.
They were taking things at his pace, never pushing for anything in particular when he regressed. They bought him toys and let him reach for them on his own. They loved cuddles when he was small, never turning him down when he sought them out, but always letting him do the seeking. And they hadn't pushed for titles. As caregivers they obviously loved the idea of Dennis have a word for them other than their names, but this was all still fairly new and Dennis was still finding his bearings with them. So they didn't push, they could stay Jack and Robby (occasionally Jackie and 'Obby if Dennis was very small) until or unless Dennis was ready for more.

Summary
When Jack and Dennis first heard Robby talk about this sabbatical of his, they knew they needed to intervene. They couldn't have their omega out for so long by himself, let alone as part of some death wish spirit quest. It just wasn't right. But Robby was so. damn. resistant to all of their alternative ideas for how he could spend his three months. Really, he asked for this, knocking down every calmer, simpler plan his alphas gave him. He left them with no other choice, after all.
