    Vein spat blood on the floor. Cheng Xiaoshi had got him good with that last punch. He was a formidable opponent, strong and capable, and if the situation had been different, Vein would've enjoyed a friendly sparring match with him.
    But the situation was what it was, a mess too far gone to untangle, and rage was all that Vein felt now when he looked at the guy in front of him, fists raised, trying so hard to protect his friend on the floor.
    He wasn't going to let them go, neither of them. His gun was gone, lost somewhere between shards of glass and shattered furniture, but it didn't matter ‐ he'd rip out their throats with bare hands if he had to.
