Robin Reversal AU. It is the year 2019, Damian's father is dead, and he's left with the legacy of Batman and a small child with crystal blue eyes. It is the year 2004, and Damian is a Muslim in post-9/11 America, son to a cryptid who works alone and doesn't realize that a Batman needs a partner. It is the year 2018, and a criminal called the Red Hood is terrorizing Damian's broken family. It is the year 2012, and Damian's father has replaced him with the neighbor next door. It is 2006 and Damian meets an alien who's also just a kid, it is 2011 and Damian is in love with an alien. It is hard being the oldest son and heir to an idiot, but Damian has Young Justice behind him and his future ahead of him. He'll cope.

He doesn’t want to dwell on why he’s telling Deadpool of all people. Surely it has nothing to do with his desperate lack of friends. MJ is in California chasing her dreams, Harry’s undergoing treatment for his mental health and isn’t allowed visitors (not that it matters since they blacklisted Peter after last time), and Gwen… Well.
And it’s not like he can talk to Aunt May without her worrying about him starving to death under a bridge or something so… Deadpool it is. Man, when did his life get this pathetic?

A fic that gave me a lot more to think about than I could ever write here. A heavy case of domestic and sexual abuse. Definitely worth it if you think you can stomach it. It's been a while since I read this fic fully but I honestly remember staring at the "happy ending" tag like a lifeline and I still wasn't sure if I could trust that.
But! I was fascinated with the unreliable narrators. The jarring differences between Zuko and Zhao's perspectives was intersting, as were the ways Zhao made sense of his own actions - that his worldview is so skewed that after an awful act of violence he can still think he's a pretty alright guy, actually.
And my boy Aang did eventually show up, being everything you might hope, despite my despair spiral. On his part I found the gender identity topics refreshing, despite a lot of a/b/o scene being reflections about gender. It's not something that's pondered super deeply in here, but kind of makes me wish that there were more fics about what nonbinary identities might look like in the a/b/o AUs.

Summary
Homecoming AU.
Ben and May divorced before Peter’s parents died, so when Ben is murdered Peter goes into foster care. It takes just a tiny taste of superpowers for Peter to decide he doesn’t want to put up with his horrible foster father anymore—the streets are infinitely more appealing. All he wants is to be Spider-Man anyway.
So he leaves.
Simple.
Simple, that is, until Iron Man needs Spider-Man’s help. Peter isn’t about to turn down an opportunity to fight alongside Tony Freaking Stark, but he also isn’t going to let his hero know that his recruit is a fifteen-year-old homeless dropout. So they strike a deal. Peter will help Tony. In return, the mask stays on.
And that’s when things get complicated.
