    Spider-Man has been missing for months. No ransom demands, no sightings—just a city slowly accepting that its hero is gone. But Peter Parker isn’t dead. He’s locked away in a cold, sterile lab, strapped to a table while faceless scientists push his body past its limits, twisting his powers into something unrecognizable.

    The only thing keeping him sane is the voice outside his cell. Wade Wilson wasn’t supposed to be here either, but Deadpool has a habit of pissing off the wrong people. Between crude jokes and whispered escape plans, they keep each other alive—until the day the restraints finally snap.

    But freedom doesn’t feel like it used to. Peter isn’t sure where the experiments end and where he begins. His reflexes are sharper, his thoughts aren’t always his own, and the hunger—the need—to hurt the people who did this won’t go away. Wade calls him “Spidey” like nothing’s changed, like he isn’t a walking nightmare stitched together by cruelty.

    But Peter knows better.

    Heroes don’t come back from places like this.

    This relationship with Wilbur, the way Tommy’s heart jumps when he walks in– definitely not healthy. But Tommy’s not very well-versed in healthy relationships. He knows what they should be, yes– a take and a give, but Tommy is a taker and he’s used to that. A burden for those who can’t handle it.

    (or, my take on the "Dark SBI" trend i've seen going around, except.... well. SBI aren't really the smooth manipulators they want to be. Tommy, on the other hand-)

    The facility itself wasn’t the best place to be in, but the playroom on floor G was the best part of Tommy’s week. The 8-year old would always be on his best behavior throughout the tests so that the men in the white coats would take him to the room. Tommy learned later that it wasn’t normal for kids to have flowers and mushrooms growing out of his hair and hands, and that normal people couldn’t make flowers and mushrooms appear whenever they hold dirt, but that just made him special.

    It also wasn’t normal for children to be taken away from their parents to be tested on, but Tommy didn’t care.

    Tommy's play hour was nearly up when the banging started.

    His name is Subject S-07 of the Spider Project, a Hydra program designed to raise an enhanced super soldier from infancy to create a perfectly obedient weapon to enact Hydra's will. Subject S-07 is the only infant to survive the program, all others dying after the multiple rounds of testing and injections to make them enhanced. They gave him the codename Spider. He has never known a life outside of Hydra.

    Until now.

    Or - Peter is raised by Hydra as a new and improved super-assassin until he gets sent on a mission to kill the rogue Winter Soldier. During the mission, Peter's first heat starts and the Avengers arrive, thoroughly ruining the plan. He gets captured by the Avengers, except now... he's not so sure he wants to go back.
