Summary
"Jo," Yuma says softly, holding out an open hand towards him as an exhausted smile plays his lips. Beads of sweat roll down the side of his face and down his neck, mixing with the pigments there until they form beautiful rivulets of blue, purple, and indigo.
"Dance with me."
or: two years after the death of his parents, Jo goes through life lacking motivation, direction, and purpose. His art degree's final project – a painting on inspiration – therefore might as well be the most cruel joke the universe has pulled on him yet.
Then, he meets Yuma.

Summary
"It's probably all those boyfriends of yours." Maki's voice brings him back from his thoughts.
Harua scoffs, "I'm not even dating anyone right now."
"You're not?"
Harua shakes his head, "Nope, we broke up. It wasn't anything serious."
Maki can't hold his smile at that.
"Why are you grinning like that?"
Maki huffs, "I'm not." He says, still smiling.
or
Harua developed a coping mechanism of chronic dating over the years and- Maki is kind of there.
Also, who's Kay? And why are his replies always the sign of an end coming?

Summary
“So is the attitude problem just a figure skater thing, then?”
Taki stiffens, his blades wobbling as he stops to look over his shoulder. “Excuse me?”
Maki’s holding his stare. He’s got long lashes, and Taki’s starting to think good things really do happen to jerk people. “Would it kill you to lighten up? We don’t wanna be here either.”
-
Out of all the challenges he faces as figure skater, Taki would humbly put being forced to share a rink with the local hockey club at the very top of the list. Particularly the team’s new defender, a rough and tumble boy with distracting dimples and a smart mouth.
Who also manages to bowl Taki over on the very first day.
(or: taki is a figure skater with something to prove to himself. maki is a hockey player with something to prove to everyone else. they collide. literally.)

Summary
Jo blinked, his heart beginning to race again while he considered his next words carefully, "What if I take you out first? On a date. Without our friends?"
Yuma tilted his head, studying him, "Like… a couple?"
"I mean no… like not if you don't want to. But yeah, just a date."
