Summary
For the most part, humans never find their 'particular other', the person whose name is written on their wrist. How could they- the universe is far too big for that.
Will Riker gave up on that quest long ago. Why bother? There are so many other ways to find love and happiness- and he's never heard of anyone with so strange a name as 'Data', anyway.
Then, he is promoted: First Officer on the newly completed Enterprise-D. A whole new world of opportunity.
And a whole new crew to meet, too.

Summary
Will Riker has all the feelings after "Measure of a Man." Seriously, ALL THE FEELINGS. Mostly for Data. The thing is, while Data wouldn't describe them as 'feelings,' his heuristic algorithms are certainly flashing indicators at him in regards to Commander Riker.

Data looked disconcerted, as though uncertain whether a joke was being played at his expense, a scenario he had unfortunately encountered more than once in his lifetime to date.
“Is this not a depiction of an aquatic bivalve on the cover?” he asked, brow furrowed. “There are even some droplets of water on the mollusk itself, suggesting that it was immersed in water prior to the moment of its depiction.”
“Do you want to tell him, or should I?” Commander Riker asked.
