Please Don't Go

Summary:

After learning that he has been tricked into betraying the ones he cares for Garu runs away.

Pucca tries to follow him to get him to come back.

Notes:

I felt so bad at seeing Garu breakdown like he did, in all honestly, it broke my heart.

It also made my boyfriend a little upset since this was the episode he watched with me.

I wanted to write something about how Pucca tried to follow him since I don't believe it ended where that episode did. I mean it's Pucca I know she would try to follow him and at the least try to find him.

I hope you all stay Blessed and Safe.

If you wanna go follow me for some strange reason you can find me on Tumblr @paper-sunflower-lane and on Twitter @SunFlower_Paper.

Work Text:

"Pucca!" Uncle Dumpling yelled as he watched his niece raced towards the direction Garu had run off in.

Pucca ignored his call as she kept her eyes the silver cape that the man she loved wore not caring about anything else at that moment than catching up to him.

She was mad, of course, she was hurt and upset like the others that she left behind but she wasn't upset at Garu, she was upset at Dong King.

If everything Ring Ring had said was true that Dong King had tricked Garu into thinking that he was his son it would explain why Garu had betrayed them, Pucca knew that there was no other reason for him to betray them.

She tried to ignore the anger and hate that ran through her as she focused on the silver cape that was getting farther and farther away from her no matter how fast she tried to run. She swore to herself as she pushed the reason for Garu's betrayal away that when she got her hands on Dong King that she would make him wish that he had never been born.

Pucca tried to ignore those violent thoughts that wanted to make her see red but it was hard to do as she remembered the tear-stained fast of the man she loved. The more she thought about the pain Garu was in the more she thought about the pain their friends were in and about the pain her uncles were in.

Dong King had turned each of their worlds upside down and she didn't know if they could be fixed but Pucca would try like she always did to fix everything.

The first step was to catch Garu and bring him back to the village and he wouldn't go back to the village then she would take him back to his home.

"Garu!" Pucca called out her voice soft but strong as she tried to run faster watching the back of the man in front of her who upon hearing his name leave her mouth only seemed to get faster. "Garu come back!" She yelled out again distress clear in her face as she forced herself to pick up speed.

He was nearly out of range of sight, so far ahead of her that she could barely see the silver cape and at this sight, fear began to fill her.

Pucca knew Garu better than anyone else did and she knew that if she didn't catch him at that moment then she wouldn't be able to find him if he didn't want to be found.

"No, no, please," Pucca begged to herself as tears started to well up in her eyes causing her vision to blare slightly as she ran through the trees around her trying to catch the man she loved. "Garu! Please stop!" She begged, forcing herself to go as fast as she could but just like always he stayed ahead of her.

Pucca felt terror bleed into her heart as she watched Garu cross the bridge that connected to the much denser part of the forest but she felt her heart leap with joy as he stopped once he crossed it.

For only a few seconds Pucca believed that maybe Garu was changing his mind and that maybe he would come back with her but those thoughts were crushed as she watched Garu pull out his sword.

"Gaur, no!" Pucca yelled as she picked up her pace ignoring the scraps and cuts the branches of the trees were spreading across her skin as she tried to make it to the bridge.

A yelp left the young woman though as she suddenly tripped a root sticking up from the ground causing her to crash onto the dirt path that she and Garu had both been running on.

Pucca let out a small groan as she pushed herself up just in time to see the sad and apologetic look Garu was sending her way before raising his sword in the air.

With one quick slash, both ends of the rope that were on Garu's side of the bridge were cut and the bridge fell away into the large chasm that now separated Garu and Pucca.

Pucca watched with wide eyes before looking back at the man that had her heart, he was starring at her with tear-filled eyes and Pucca felt like she was about to cry even more as she watched him raise his head and gave a small wave before taking off.

Pucca sat there in the dirt watching as Garu sped off into the dark forest that they had ventured through many times before together.

Now they were both alone both on the same path but no longer with one another and that only made Pucca's tears fall down her face faster and faster.

The young woman didn't have the strength to move as she sat on the ground letting her tears fall and starring after Garu who had said goodbye to her in a way that told her it was forever or at least that's what he planned.

Pucca sat there and watched the other path hoping by some miracle Garu would come back and help her fix everything just like he always did but as the hours ticked by that moment never came.

When the night began to fall Pucca still didn't take her eyes off of the other path not even when her uncles found her and not even when her Uncle Dumpling picked her up in his arms to carry her home.

Pucca's eyes stayed on where she had last seen Garu even when she could no longer see it, her eyes begging for Garu to come back and for him not to go, for him not to leave her alone.
