Work Text:

hitoshi was going to do something he will regert later on.

peering down at his best friend -- izuku -- who cuddled in the violet head teens chest and almost curling into hitoshis lap; he was breathing ever so lightly and hushly with his eyes shuts showing he was sleeping. hitoshi was glad for these rare moments he had with izuku, seeing as of late freckled face teen has been more paranoid after the talk with his dad. he seemed so scared and sure that someone knew what they were doing, which that in itself made them look more suspicious in his new jumpy and skittish nature.

it hurt hitoshi to see his friend like that, especially with the look of swivet and blatant worry overtaking in his green eyes when he -- hitoshi -- attempt to ask to go back to any normalcy they once had before monoma, before his dad just had to come and give them that talk. he wanted to have his friend back to being the selfless little shit izuku was and not this person who is worried about too many things at once and that is now causing him to be paranoid. thats why, hitoshi was going to do a dumb decision against his better judgement and go to shigaraki himself.

hitoshi knows the man has a weirdly close relationship with izuku, after all he somehow developed a strong and close relationship with the villain too. but the bond him and izuku shared was special, brotherly and deep. he could see the almost animalistic, and rooted protectiveness in the mans red eyes the moment he met him. it was like hitoshi was threat for a moment -- but not to him. to izuku. that thought itself made the teen shiver as his skin prickled with cold goosebumps. he could never hurt izuku, even thinking about trying to hurt the green haired teen in anyway makes him physically sick.

he would do anything to protect izuku, which is why he had to force himself to tear away from the teen who clung onto him. hitoshi would and could deal with the consequences of what he's going to do later. for now he carefully tucked his best friend in his bed and for one last moment, he ran his fingers through the thick, dark green, curls allowing the teen to shift into his hand; murmuring sweet nothings in his sleep. hitoshi gave a bitter smile as he removed his hand. there was a frown present on izukus face as soon as the other teen let go but hitoshi ignored it and turned his back, he had a mission to go on. he knew that izuku won't be happy, but he'll be safer, he'll be less stressed. and hitoshi will do anything to keep his best friend happy.

with that last thought in mind, hitoshi left out izukus room, shutting the door with a soft click behind him.

...

sneaking out wasn't exactly a chore for hitoshi, but it was more than he would of liked. apparently u.a. has added in the cameras where there used to be the usual blind spots. he, on multiple times, nearly got caught with a simple camera using motion sensory to scan for him before coming up short. its going to be a pain tomorrow hitoshi knows this, he can practically feel his dad anger with the camera noting the fact someone was there but they can't find them. he can feel another lecture if his dad can figure out its them, more specifically, hitoshi himself, sneaking out, and he doesn't need that.

he doesn't need the threat of explosion to be even more real than it already is. it would cause more troubles than he would like when all he wants to do is help a friend. but hitoshi tries not to think on the possibles of what could happen if he ever gets expelled, ( which is a lot of bad things, his dads are two teachers of u.a. and two proheros. he don't see his life not being sunshine and rainbows if that ever happen. ) hitoshi instead try to stick to the shadows and back alleys of the streets and look for the meeting spot where he, shigaraki, and izuku chose to meet up at. it was a big, vine - rust covered, and torn down, building that was on the bad side of musutafu that the heros usually didn't come to.

".. tired brat?" a gruff voice called out in almost a disbelief tone at the sight of hitoshi. the teen almost winced in guilt, he felt bad for being away for so long but hitoshi just couldnt get away. not without him causing any more trouble he than he wanted to. but the teen had tried to play off the gnawing feeling in his chest that was pressuring, dark, and sour as he went further in the light to meet shigaraki. he gave a lazy smile as he brushed off what the older man said with a laugh of his own, but the laugh more so sounded like a bitter huff.

"tch, you don't look too good yourself crusty dusty." hitoshi shot back with a soft attempt of a crackle but even that sounded forced. shigaraki stared at him with an narrowing eye. it made hitoshi flinch, dropping the facede he held up and travel his gaze to the ground. the look shigaraki had on him wasn't his usual glare, it was sharper and ardent. he could feel shigaraki trying to read into him -- trying to understand why he was even the tiniest bit off. it only took a moment before his eyes flickered to the side where izuku would normally stand at and he stared. and he stared, and he stared, before his eyes turned into a true, dangerous, glare and he gave a soft growl. hitoshi swore he felt his skin crawl from the mere promise of him -- someone shigaraki somehow trusted and considered a friend now -- red, glowing eyes, promised him death if he had hurt izuku.

"where is izuku?" shigaraki asked in a low, low, low tone -- nearly a whisper. but the tone was a warning tone. he knew it meant to answer him right, and things might be fine for him. hitoshi swallowed the thick lump that was forming in his throat as beads of sweat started to fall down his neck. he just ignored that and forced out a chocked out answer.

"izukus at the dorm asleep, no need to worry! i personally wanted to see you, i- we, need your help but izuku wasnt going to admit that." hitoshi was quick to explain and he could see shigaraki defenses fall which was a relief to the teen, he was glad to know he'd make it back to the dorm without being hurt. he could see shigaraki frown as he gave a deep sigh to what hitoshi said; his hand tangled within his powder blue hair.

"alright tell me what happened." hitoshi cracked a wild, toothy, smile that meant shigaraki wasnt going to like the news he was going to share. he could already see the man losing early years off his life just from the smile he shared and the receiving deadpan the man gave back; already done with the situation. hitoshi, could sadly, relate. things have been messy and for some reason he has a feeling tingling inside of his stomach that tells him that things are going to get worse rather than better but he just tried to focus on the man in front of him rather than eerie doubts.

"so, uh, yeah im pretty sure we have a person walking around the school that knows we are associated with you. we tried to deal with it izukus way, but he probably broke out the brainwash on the way to his dorm and remember the shit we were saying around him n' stuff before then. and the only true reason i say that is because, well, of the knowing looks." shigaraki groaned, he gave a long, drawn out, groan as he dropped his head into his hands. hitoshi felt bad seeing as there was more, a lot more and he didn't want to add any more stress to the man but who else could hitoshi go to? his dad? papa? fuck no. technically, at the moment, they are threats to him even if they are on the same side.

".. and now im almost like, eighty five percent sure aizawa now knows whats up because his last talk with us. which is why im here because things are a bit bad and i know izuku don't want your help but we need it!" oh, and there goes shigaraki leaning against the broken wall -- sliding down into a crouch as he groaned even louder; muttering things to himself or hitoshi. the teen wasnt all too sure. but all he knew was shigaraki was probably feeling a lot of regret, and that could be befriending the two of them. and honestly hitoshi didn't blame him, the two teens are putting the man at a lot of risk when they simply talk about him, let alone try and meet him.

"okay.. you dumbasses are-- agh. how did you manage to get two people on your asses? alright alright.. im guessing you don't want me to hurt anyone right brat?" hitoshi merely shrugged as teeth captured his lip feeling a mix of moral conflict rise in his chest. he didn't care, and that scared him. hitoshi just wanted this damn problem solved and if that meant blood needed to be sheded then so be it. that way of thinking was wrong, and not heroic at all. something his dads would be disappointed in, that he tried not to live by and prove that he wasn't villainous yet.. hitoshi shook his head. nasty thoughts later, help his best friend now.

"just focus on the student, we'll worry on aizawa later. though, the student name is monoma neito, he is in hero class b and kinda an asshole. oh! and his quirk is copycat. i guess it allows you to copy the quirk of others for a few minutes i guess.." hitoshi blandly explained, earning an eyebrow raise from shigaraki who wore an mildly amused expression.

"you don't seemed to care too much what happens to this monoma person." shigaraki says with a amused chuckle as hitoshi rolled his eyes but didn't deny a thing. truth be told, he didn't care. if the teen suddenly disappeared, hitoshi wouldnt care. he could be dead and the purple haired latter would just go on like normal. its a fucked up way with living, but he just don't like monoma but monoma didn't like him so he didn't care all too much about respect either. perhaps he should later on really do a deep check on his morals and what they are since if he's really willing to let a person possibly die because he don't like them, and because he knows it will make things better eventually -- make izukus life better, then that's probably not good. at least not for a hero.

hitoshi tried to swallow the ever growing lump in his throat that didn't seem to go away as he tried to ignore his loud thoughts on his conflicting feelings on what he was doing. not that he felt regret, nor did he feel wrong. but he felt he should feel more than a muted, empty, biterness as he spoke to the man about monoma. after all this was a persons life.

"no. no i don't. besides, if something happens to a student, the media will eat that up." eventually, hitoshi answered, with a sigh. his other reasoning was a bit more harmful; which was to drag u.as name a little. if a student got hurt again, there reputation would surely be dragged. the once eyes on them, would be trying to prove that they are still a good school -- especially with how the current year has been going. they really don't need any more controversies and he was going to take full advantage of that fact. he doesn't care if it tears down u.a. itself, he doesn't care if u.a. ends up the most hated school nor does he care if people leave u.a. for others.

all he truly cares about is fixing this mess and keeping izuku happy. and if that means ruining u.a.'s stupid image so be it.
