Summary
There is a coughing noise from behind him. Tommy turns to glimpse Tubbo crawling from the wreckage on all fours, emerging from an open passenger doorway. He crawls a few paces from the wreck, flips over onto his back, and heaves a shuddering breath.
Tommy crouches next to him and gives him a once-over for injuries, but he seems physically unharmed. Mentally, Tommy can’t be certain; he’s giving this terrific grin and breathing like he’s ran a marathon. His eyes, shielded behind thick orange-gold welding goggles, are pointed directly up at purple sky, and his horns are glinting bright silver in the moonlight.
“We fuckin’ made it, big man,” Tubbo wheezes, and he pauses to cough out some engine exhaust. “We made it.”

Or: Tommy and Tubbo are experimental soldiers, illegally abducted from Earth 4 years before for the use of the megacompany Exodus Corporations. When they escape from their mothership and jettison into outer space, a bounty hunter crew known as the Antarctic Imperial is assigned to recapture them and return them to their handlers.
